The ESI (Elite Sports Investment) is a private equity fund, established to provide superior returns to its targeted shareholders, South African sports men and women competing at a national and international level.
A primary objective of ESI is to allow members to concentrate on their sport with the confidence that their investments are in safe hands.
A further benefit arising from investing with the ESI is the opportunity for these sports men and women to get involved in the various businesses they have invested in. Once their sporting careers have come to an end they have an opportunity to work in these business ventures.
ESI invests only in active investments where a controlling interest is held. The selection criteria, for JAG to participate in or acquire a business, is based on ESI holding a controlling interest in the investment and having input in terms of its management structure, controls and skills transfer.
JAG will continue to support ESI in the sourcing and financing of investments, until such time as the ESI becomes a self-contained entity, JAG will continue to co-invest with ESI members.
